HDRI stands for High Dynamic Range Image, and it is a 360° image that is projected on an infinitely large sphere for lighting and background purposes.
Use HDRIs to light your scene
Change the HDRI
All new files use a default HDRI. To change it, follow these steps:
- In the right sidebar (make sure that nothing in the scene is selected), click on the ‘Library’ icon beside the current HDRI (ex. Afternoon Sky)
- Choose the HDRI you want to use

Lighting Settings
- Strength: Controls the intensity of the lighting emitted by the HDRI
- Show Environment: Toggle visibility of the HDRI as a cubemap
- Shadows: Toggle shadows caused by directional light
- Light Direction: Adjust the direction of the environmental light
- Shadow intensity: Controls the intensity of the shadow
